> Multi location SEO services explained: what is included, what 12 providers charge as published, what to ask, and how to get each location found.

---

TL;DR

- Good multi-location SEO treats each real location as its own listing, page and review stream, then reports results one location at a time.
- Most providers in my check do not publish a monthly price, so ask every shortlisted provider for a written first-year total.
- AI assistants find locations through their own search crawlers and Google's index, so check crawler access and matching business details before you spend.
- Start with a pilot on a few locations, judge it on what changed at each one, then scale.

## What do multi location SEO services include, and what should you pay?

Multi location SEO services manage a separate Google Business Profile, location page, directory listings and reviews for each location, then report results location by location. Google says owners of [more than 10 locations](https://developers.google.com/my-business/content/locations) of the same business must verify them individually or through bulk verification. The trade-off: the work grows with every location, and so does the cost.

**Bottom line**

- Pick a one-time project if your listings are a mess and you have staff who can keep them clean afterward.
- Pick a monthly retainer if you keep opening locations or compete in crowded categories and nobody in-house owns local search.
- Skip it unless each location is a real place customers visit, or a real service area your staff covers.

**Who this is for:** local businesses doing roughly $1.5M to $20M a year that need to hold their place in the Google map pack. Smaller operators can stop here: our plans are built for that range. Most of what competitors bundle is activity, not outcomes. You are paying for the result, not the receipt.

Before you call anyone, see where you stand today. In my free [AI Recommendation Test](/ai-recommendation-test/), I ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode money questions by hand to see whether they name your business. No placement is promised. If you want the basics first, read [how local SEO works](/local-seo/) or [why a business does not show up on Google](/why-is-my-business-not-showing-up-on-google/). This guide assumes you are past that and ready to hire.

**Want a second opinion first?**

Ask for a free Map Pack Check on the [contact page](/contact/) or call (816) 608-8581. Growth, $5,000 a month, covers local and Google Business Profile work for up to 5 locations. Enterprise, $10,000 a month, lists multi-location coverage. Both are on [pricing](/pricing/).

## Key facts

- Bulk verification needs [10 or more profiles](https://support.google.com/business/answer/4490296) from the same business. Service-area businesses cannot use it.
- Google reports [over 2.5 billion monthly users](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/new-controls-website-owners/) for AI Overviews and over one billion for AI Mode.
- OpenAI says robots.txt changes take [about 24 hours](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots) to reach ChatGPT search.
- Google's Search Console opt-out for AI features reached [all websites on August 31, 2026](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/new-controls-website-owners/).
- Growth, [$5,000 a month](/pricing/), covers local and Google Business Profile work for up to 5 locations.

## What multi-location SEO is, and what it is not

Multi-location SEO is search engine optimization applied to local search when one business has several real locations or service areas. The goal is simple. A customer near any of your locations should find that location, with the right phone number, hours and reviews.

It is not national SEO, where one website tries to rank across the country without tying results to physical places. It is not franchising, which is a business model. Franchise SEO is one kind of multi-location SEO where corporate and franchisees share control of listings. It is not a listings tool on its own. Software can push data out, but it does not decide which locations deserve a profile. And it is not a pile of city pages for towns where you have no office or crew. Google treats each real location as its own listing. See [one business, one Google profile](/updates/one-business-one-google-profile/).

## Our data: what 12 multi-location SEO providers publish (checked November 5, 2026)

**Method.** On November 5, 2026 I searched Google for "multi location seo services", "multi location seo pricing" and "local seo for multiple locations". I opened 12 official provider or vendor pages and read each one in full. None were judged from snippets. A check counts as yes only when the page says it plainly. If a page was vague, I counted no or not stated. The lowest monthly price is the smallest monthly figure on that page. One-time project prices are noted but do not count as monthly.

**Limits.** This is a snapshot of 12 pages that ranked on one day, not the whole market. Two of the 12 (Chatmeter and Outpace SEO) are guides rather than service pages. Pages change. If a page leaves something out, that does not prove the provider skips it. The pages I checked are not linked from this guide.

| Check | Providers (N of M) |
| --- | --- |
| Publishes a monthly price | 4 of 12 |
| Says each location gets its own Google Business Profile work | 10 of 12 |
| Mentions location pages | 11 of 12 |
| Mentions review management | 9 of 12 |
| Mentions AI search, AI Overviews or ChatGPT | 5 of 12 |
| States a minimum contract term | 0 of 12 (3 say no long-term contract) |
| Range of lowest published monthly prices | $2,000 to $5,997 |

Download the 12 rows behind this table: [our-data-2026-11-05.csv](/multi-location-seo-services/our-data-2026-11-05.csv) (each page checked, the URL, each yes/no, and whether we opened it in full).

**What it means.** Nearly everyone sells the same building blocks: profiles, pages and reviews. Where they differ is price transparency and AI search, and most will not give you a number until you get on a call. None of the 12 states a minimum term. 3 say there is no long-term contract. So get the term, the exit rules and the first-year total in writing before you sign.

## What multi-location SEO services include

This is the work you should see on any proposal. If a line is missing, ask why.

| Work item | What it is and why it matters |
| --- | --- |
| A Google Business Profile per location | Claimed, verified, correct category, hours, services and photos for each real location. This listing is what shows up in the map pack. See [Google Business Profile work](/google-business-profile/). |
| Location pages | One page per location with its real address, phone, services, staff and local proof. Pages that only swap the city name give customers and search engines nothing new. |
| Citations and directory data | The same name, address and phone on [Bing Places](/bing-places/), Apple and the [core local directories](/local-directories/). Data that drifts between sites is how a location ends up with the wrong number. |
| Reviews | A steady way to ask for reviews at each location, plus replies. Reviews belong to the location, so they should be tracked one location at a time. |
| Structured data | LocalBusiness markup that matches what each page shows. See [how to add it](/updates/add-localbusiness-structured-data-to-your-site/). |
| Tracking | Map rank checks, calls and direction requests for each location. Totals across all locations can hide one location that is struggling. |
| Reporting | A monthly view by location with what changed, what was done and what comes next. Ask who owns the accounts and the data. |

## What multi-location SEO costs in 2026

Here is what the market publishes, as listed on November 5, 2026. Each outside price comes from the provider's own page. Most providers in my check publish nothing, so treat these as reference points, not averages. For single-location benchmarks, see [local SEO cost](/local-seo-cost/).

| Price model | Published example |
| --- | --- |
| One-time project, base plus per location | Leap Hub, Location Network Visibility Fix: $1,000 base plus $250 per location (1 to 5), $150 per location (6 to 20). Two-location minimum. As listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. |
| One-time 30-day sprint | Leap Hub, same page: $1,500 base plus $500 per location (1 to 5), $300 per location (6 to 20). As listed on November 5, 2026. |
| Monthly retainer, sample network | SEO Growth Partners: a hypothetical 7-location example at $3,999 a month for months 1 and 2, then $2,750, $3,750 or $4,750 a month. As listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. |
| Starting retainer | Chaz Edward Local Marketing: lowest monthly figure $5,997. A separate $2,497 starting price is not labeled monthly. As listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. |
| Custom-scoped range | Ignite Visibility: most engagements $2,000 to $10,000+ a month. No long-term contract required. As listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. |
| Flat network rate | Boulder SEO Marketing: pilot at $5,000 to $10,000 a month. As listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. |
| Kansas City SEO Services, Growth | $5,000 a month, 6-month minimum, then month-to-month with 30-day notice. Covers local and Google Business Profile work for up to 5 locations. |
| Kansas City SEO Services, Authority | $7,500 a month, 12-month term with an exit after month 6. |
| Kansas City SEO Services, Enterprise | $10,000 a month, 12-month term. Its plan card lists multi-location coverage. |
| Our one-time and discounts | Onboarding audit $5,000 to $10,000, waived on 12-month terms. 10% off for annual prepay. Google Ads quoted separately. |

On Authority and Enterprise, there can also be a capped quarterly bonus of 10 to 15% of that quarter's base fee. It is paid only when KPIs we agree on in writing are hit. I take one business per category per map area, so if I already work with a competitor near one of your locations, I will tell you before you pay. Growth covers up to 5 locations. Authority and Enterprise are built for multi-location businesses, so ask me on the [contact page](/contact/) which plan fits your count.

## How to make every location readable to AI assistants

Each assistant finds pages in a different way, and you can check most of them yourself. OpenAI says [OAI-SearchBot](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots) surfaces websites in ChatGPT search, and sites that block it will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers, though they can still appear as navigational links. Anthropic says blocking [Claude-SearchBot](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/8896518-does-anthropic-crawl-data-from-the-web-and-how-can-site-owners-block-the-crawler) may reduce your site's visibility and accuracy in Claude's search results. Claude-User fetches pages when someone asks Claude a question. Perplexity says [PerplexityBot](https://www.perplexity.ai/help-center/en/articles/10354969-how-does-perplexity-follow-robots-txt) will not index the text of a site that blocks it, though it may still index the domain, headline and a brief summary. Google built AI Mode on a [custom version of Gemini](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/ai-mode-search/), and AI Mode [splits a question into subtopics](https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/16011537) and searches each one. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode share one Search Console control that lets a site opt out. Google rolled it out to all websites as of August 31, 2026, and sites that opt out [get no traffic or impressions](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/new-controls-website-owners/) from those features.

What to do: let the search bots reach every location page. Keep each location's name, address and phone the same everywhere ([how to match details](/updates/match-business-details-for-ai-assistants/)). Put the facts in plain text on the page. A safe starting point for robots.txt (see [how to check yours](/updates/check-robots-txt-ai-search-crawlers/)):

```
User-agent: OAI-SearchBot
Allow: /
User-agent: Claude-SearchBot
Allow: /
User-agent: PerplexityBot
Allow: /
```

None of this guarantees a mention. It only removes the blocks.

## Questions to ask before you hire

- Which of our locations qualify for their own Google Business Profile, and which do not?
- Do we qualify for bulk verification, or will each location be verified one at a time?
- What is the total for the first 12 months, including setup, audits and per-location fees?
- What happens to the price when we open or close a location?
- What is the minimum term, and how do we exit?
- Who owns the profiles, the website changes, the tracking and the data if we leave?
- Will you write and publish location pages, or only recommend changes?
- How do you report by location, and how often?
- How do you check whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Mode can reach our pages?
- Do you work for a competitor in any of our markets?

For a longer list, see [how to choose a local SEO company](/how-to-choose-a-local-seo-company-kansas-city/).

## How to hire a multi-location SEO provider, step by step

### 1. List every location and how it serves customers

Put every location in one sheet: address, phone, hours, whether customers come in or staff go out, and who has access to its Google profile. Mark any duplicates or closed locations.

*Time:* one working session.

*Done when:* every location has one row, one owner and a storefront or service-area label.

### 2. Take a baseline on your top locations

Pick your three highest-revenue locations. Note where each one shows up in the map pack for your main services. Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode who to call near each one, and save screenshots.

*Time:* an afternoon.

*Done when:* you have dated screenshots you can compare against later.

### 3. Choose a price model before you shop

Decide whether you want a one-time cleanup, a monthly retainer or a mix. If you plan to open more locations, ask for per-location pricing so the cost of growing is clear upfront.

*Time:* one meeting with whoever signs the checks.

*Done when:* you have a budget ceiling for the first year.

### 4. Send the same brief to three providers

Share your location sheet, baseline and budget. Ask each provider to answer the questions above in writing. If you send the same brief to everyone, you can compare the answers side by side.

*Time:* one to two weeks for replies.

*Done when:* you have three written proposals with first-year totals.

### 5. Check access, ownership and exits

Before you sign, confirm that you stay the owner of each profile and that the provider is only added as a manager. Read the termination clause. Ask what you keep if you leave.

*Time:* a day for contract review.

*Done when:* ownership and exit terms are written in the contract.

### 6. Pilot, then scale

Start with a few locations that represent the rest. Fix the problems that show up at all of them first. Add locations once the pilot shows what changed.

*Time:* one full reporting cycle at minimum.

*Done when:* you can point to specific changes at each pilot location and decide on the rest.

## Mistakes that cost the most

### Scaling before a pilot: $4,500 on one published rate card

On Leap Hub's 30-day sprint pricing, as listed on its own page on November 5, 2026, 5 locations cost $1,500 plus 5 times $500, or $4,000. Twenty locations add 15 times $300, for $8,500. That is $4,500 more committed before you know the method works for you. Fix: pilot a handful of locations, then expand.

### Paying to set up locations that do not qualify: $500 each on one published rate card

On the same Leap Hub sprint, each of the first 5 locations costs $500, as listed on November 5, 2026. Google's [bulk verification help](https://support.google.com/business/answer/4490296) says duplicate, suspended or disabled profiles do not count toward the 10-profile minimum. Paying a per-location fee for a duplicate or a location with no real staff wastes that fee. Fix: finish the location sheet in step 1 before you ask for quotes.

### Comparing monthly fees and ignoring setup: $7,998 before ongoing work

In SEO Growth Partners' hypothetical 7-location example, as listed on its own page on November 5, 2026, months 1 and 2 cost $3,999 each, $7,998 in total, before the ongoing package starts. My own onboarding audit is $5,000 to $10,000 unless you sign a 12-month term. Fix: compare first-year totals, not monthly fees.

## Your options compared: DIY, specialists, agencies or hiring me

| Option | What you get, what it costs, the catch |
| --- | --- |
| Do it in-house | Full control and no agency fee. The cost is staff hours. The catch: it is hard to keep many locations consistent alongside other work. |
| One-time project specialist | A cleanup with a fixed scope, such as Leap Hub's $1,000 base plus per-location fees, as listed on its own page on November 5, 2026. The catch: once it ends, keeping it clean is on you. |
| Per-location SEO retainer | Ongoing profile, page and content work, such as SEO Growth Partners' hypothetical 7-location example from $2,750 a month, as listed on November 5, 2026. The catch: setup months cost extra. |
| Full-service multi-channel agency | Search, ads, social and reporting from one team, such as Ignite Visibility at $2,000 to $10,000+ a month, as listed on November 5, 2026. The catch: the scope is custom, so prices vary. |
| Kansas City SEO Services | Maps-first listings, pages and AI visibility work. Growth is $5,000 a month for up to 5 locations. Enterprise, $10,000 a month, lists multi-location coverage. The catch: 6 to 12-month terms. |

## How we compared the options

| Criterion (weight) | What it measures |
| --- | --- |
| Per-location coverage (30%) | Whether profiles, pages and reviews are handled one location at a time. |
| Price transparency (20%) | Whether you can see a real number before a sales call. |
| AI search readiness (20%) | Whether crawler access, matching details and AI visibility checks are part of the work. |
| Commitment flexibility (15%) | How easy it is to start small and leave. |
| Implementation included (15%) | Whether the provider makes the changes or only recommends them. |

Each option gets a rating from 0 to 10 on each criterion. Those ratings are my judgment. The score is the weighted sum of the ratings, using the weights above (30 + 20 + 20 + 15 + 15 = 100%). Disclosure: Kansas City SEO Services sells one of these options and rated itself, so weigh that score with that in mind. Growth is $5,000 a month and Enterprise is $10,000 a month. There are no affiliate links on this page. Outside prices are as listed on November 5, 2026.

**Do it in-house**: Best for owners with a dedicated marketing hire and a few locations. Ratings: coverage 5, price transparency 8, AI readiness 4, flexibility 10, implementation 6. Score: 6.3/10 (weighted sum, a judgment). Trade-off: no fee, but steady staff time.

**One-time project specialist**: Best for networks that need one cleanup and have someone to keep it clean. Ratings: coverage 8, price transparency 9, AI readiness 6, flexibility 9, implementation 9. Score: 8.1/10 (weighted sum, a judgment). Trade-off: nothing ongoing after the project.

**Per-location SEO retainer**: Best for growing networks that want profile and content work every month. Ratings: coverage 9, price transparency 7, AI readiness 5, flexibility 4, implementation 8. Score: 6.9/10 (weighted sum, a judgment). Trade-off: setup months raise the first-year cost.

**Full-service multi-channel agency**: Best for brands that also need ads and social run by the same team. Ratings: coverage 8, price transparency 6, AI readiness 7, flexibility 8, implementation 8. Score: 7.4/10 (weighted sum, a judgment). Trade-off: custom scope makes it harder to compare.

**Kansas City SEO Services**: Best for service businesses that want maps-first work and AI visibility tracking with published prices. Ratings: coverage 8, price transparency 9, AI readiness 8, flexibility 3, implementation 7. Score: 7.3/10 (weighted sum, a judgment). Trade-off: longer terms than project shops.

## Which option fits you

| If you are ... | Start with / watch out for |
| --- | --- |
| A 2 to 5 location home services company | Start with a cleanup and one page per location. Watch out for city pages for towns you do not serve. |
| A dental or medical group | Start with a profile per office and practitioner details. Watch out for duplicate listings for the same address. |
| A law firm with several offices | Start with a staffed-office check for each listing. Watch out for virtual offices you cannot verify. |
| A franchise system with 10 or more storefronts | Start with a bulk verification check. Watch out for franchisees who hold their own logins. |
| A service-area business covering several metros | Start with real service areas and real staff. Watch out: bulk verification excludes you. |

## Who this is not for

- **Single-location businesses.** You do not need network-level work. Start with [local SEO](/local-seo/) instead.
- **Brands wanting listings where they do not operate.** Profiles for places with no real office or crew break Google's rules, and the listings can be removed. Grow real locations first.
- **Networks with hundreds of locations and constant changes.** You likely need API-level listing software and an in-house team. Use a provider built for that scale.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much do multi-location SEO services cost?

In my November 5, 2026 check, the lowest published monthly prices ran from $2,000 to $5,997. Only 4 of 12 providers published a monthly price at all. One-time projects can start lower, with per-location fees added.

### Do I need a separate Google Business Profile for each location?

Yes, for each real location that serves customers. Each profile carries its own hours, phone and reviews. Locations with no staff or no customer-facing presence may not qualify under Google's guidelines.

### Can a service-area business use bulk verification?

No. Google's bulk verification help page says service-area businesses cannot bulk verify, and you need 10 or more profiles from the same business. Service-area locations are verified one at a time.

### How long does multi-location SEO take to show results?

It depends on each location's starting point and its competitors. Fixing wrong data can help quickly, while reviews and pages build over months. Judge a pilot on what changed at each location before you scale.

### Should each location get its own page or its own website?

Most networks are better off with one site and one page per location. That keeps your data in one place and makes it easier to keep consistent. A separate site only makes sense when a location truly runs as a separate brand.

### Can an agency guarantee my locations show up in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?

No. The assistants decide their own answers. An honest provider can remove blocks, match your details and track what assistants say, but no one controls the outcome.

### What is the difference between franchise SEO and multi-location SEO?

Franchise SEO is multi-location SEO where corporate and franchisees share control. The extra work is deciding who owns each profile, who replies to reviews and who approves changes.

### How many locations does a Kansas City SEO Services plan cover?

Growth covers local and Google Business Profile work for up to 5 locations at $5,000 a month. Authority and Enterprise are built for multi-location businesses, and Enterprise lists multi-location coverage. Ask me on the contact page and I will give you a straight answer before you pay.

## Your next step

Start with your three busiest locations. Request a free Map Pack Check on the [contact page](/contact/), and I will send a five-minute screen recording of one listing next to nearby competitors. Compare plans on [pricing](/pricing/): Growth covers up to 5 locations, and Authority and Enterprise are built for larger networks. Or call (816) 608-8581. I cannot promise rankings or AI mentions, and nobody honest can.

Think of the onboarding audit as the starting point that surfaces what is wrong on the listing. The monthly Growth plan is the part that keeps replies, posts, and photos current once it is fixed. If your business does $1.5M to $20M a year, that is the range we built this for.
