Log what AI assistants say about you every month

One AI answer proves nothing, so keep a dated monthly log and judge the pattern over time.

One answer from an AI assistant tells you very little. Answers vary by session, location and model. So I tell owners to keep a dated log instead.

How to keep the log

  1. Pick a short set of prompts and use the same ones every time, so you can compare month to month. One might be: "I need a water heater replaced in Overland Park. Who should I call?"
  2. Open a temporary chat if the account has one, so your history does not color the answer.
  3. Ask each prompt. Copy the businesses named and the sources listed into a spreadsheet with the date.
  4. Run the same set in more than one assistant.

What to write down

Note whether you were named, whether your facts were right, and which sites were cited. Cited sites you are missing from are your to-do list.

Then give it time. Look at the pattern over three months or more before you decide anything. I can't promise any assistant names you. You control the inputs, never the answer.

The full steps are in my guide on getting recommended by AI assistants, and I also run the free AI Recommendation Test by hand.
