Use your real business name on your Google profile

Your Google Business Profile name should be the name on your sign, with no keywords, city names, taglines or phone numbers added.

Google's guidelines for representing your business say your name should reflect your business's real-world name, as used consistently on your storefront, website, stationery, and as known to customers. Address, service area, hours, and category go in the other sections of your profile.

Google also says including unnecessary information in your business name isn't permitted and could result in the suspension of your Business Profile. That covers taglines, phone numbers, website URLs, service words, location information, and fully capitalized words.

Why it matters for AI answers

AI assistants can only describe your business from what is public. Your profile name is one of those public facts. A clean name that matches your sign and your website is easier to read the same way everywhere. I can't promise any placement or mention in an AI answer.

What I would check

  1. Compare the profile name to your sign, truck, invoices and website footer.
  2. Move service words into your category and services.
  3. Put Kansas City in your address or service area, and hours in hours.
  4. Keep a legal term like LLC only if your real-world materials show it consistently.
